Rome: Thursday 28 May may be the day Italy is waiting for. By then, the Italian federation will meet with the government in the hope of officially obtaining a date for the resumption of competitions.

This Sunday afternoon the Italian Football Federation sent the new protocol for the organisation of the matches to the Minister of Sport, Vincenzo Spadafora, who took it positively.

“They have sent me the document and we will decide on Thursday with Lega Serie A and FIGC yes and when to do it. The two possible dates are June 13 and 20,” he explained.

The new parameters are in line with what is already being perceived in the Bundesliga and also raised LaLiga with the government of Pedro Sanchez, who already gave the go-ahead on Saturday.

There will be a division of the stadiums into three zones and the maximum number of people during the games will be 300.

Players will have to keep their distance from the referees, be cautious with the celebrations and make sure that the teams, both among themselves and on the benches, are separated according to the measures.

The novelty could come with a demand from Spadafora: “They say we should look at the German model, but there are open games there and we will work to make this happen too, avoiding crowds if the championship is resumed,” he added.
