Pakistan ready to enhance cooperation among SAARC countries: FM

Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has reiterated Pakistan’s readiness to enhance cooperation among SAARC member countries and development partners in health sector, with particular focus on COVID-19.

He expressed these views in a greeting letter addressed to Iftikhar Ali Malik for becoming president of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan has the highest coronavirus testing capacity to date among all South Asian countries with 20,000 tests a day.

The Foreign Minister also reiterated Pakistan’s desire for peaceful relations with all neighboring countries for peace and stability in the region.

He underlined the need to establish new trade centers in the region to strengthen economic and trade relations.

Iftikhar Ali Malik expressed his gratitude for the greetings and said the economy has to be the most important agenda for the SAARC nations, despite political challenges and compulsions.
