Shibli Faraz slams opposition for attacking country’s institutions

Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Shibli Faraz has condemned opposition leaders for hurling attacks on country’s integrity and institutions.

Talking to media in Islamabad this evening, he said the people of Pakistan are aware of the sacrifices of Pakistan Army and security agencies in successfully fighting war on terrorism and averted Pakistan from becoming Syria, Iraq, or Afghanistan.

He said it is unfortunate that an absconder was allowed to make a speech and talk negative about country’s institutions. He said it would have been better if the opposition talked about sanctity and respect of the Holy Prophet [Peace Be Upon Him] as was done by Prime Minister Imran Khan at the UN General Assembly instead of maligning state institutions.

Syed Shibli Faraz said opposition’s political gimmicks are aimed at saving its leadership from accountability. He said PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif has no moral justification to hurl questions on the government and instead she and her father should answer that how they made their assets abroad and how they laundered money.

He said they used institutions for their corruption and on the contrary, we will strengthen our institutions. He said the PTI government led by Prime Minister Imran Khan is committed to put the country on path of economic progress and prosperity.
