UAE’s Bu Abdullah Group of Companies chief expresses interest to invest in CPEC projects

Islamabad: Chairman Bu Abdullah Group of Companies of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Dr Bu Abdullah has expressed his interest to invest in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Pakistan.

Dr Abdullah visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and appreciated prospects of Joint Ventures (JVs) and investment in CPEC Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

Dr Bu Abdullah met with Muhammad Shakeel Munir, President ICCI, Jamshaid Akhtar Sheikh, Senior Vice President, Muhammad Naveed Malik, former Senior Vice President ICCI and

others at the ICCI.

He informed during the meeting that his group owned more than 270 companies in Asia and other parts of the world with business interests in real estate, legal and business consultancy and was now interested in tapping the Pakistani market for business and investment.

He mentioned that Bu Abdullah Real Estate has over 1000 residential, commercial, and retail properties with diverse verticals which reflects its dedication to developing ecosystems for changing needs.

Speaking at the occasion, Muhammad Shakeel Munir, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry thanked Dr Bu Abdullah, Chairman, Bu Abdullah Group of Companies for visiting ICCI and briefed him about great investment prospects in Pakistan’s real estate and construction sector.

He said that construction was a booming industry in Pakistan spurred by Prime Minister Imran Khan’s construction package and it was the right time for foreign investors to tap Pakistan’s real estate sector for partnerships and investment.

The ICCI President remarked that UAE was one of the biggest trading partners of Pakistan with a trade volume of over $8 billion, which was encouraging.

He informed the visiting guest about the fast pace of projects under the CPEC and added that the operationalization of the Gwadar Port would create many new opportunities for the business community of UAE as Pakistan would connect the Middle East with Afghanistan and Central Asia.

He highlighted that the Pakistani sea port linking it to the Arabian Sea, has a massive investment potential for the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)countries.

He assured that ICCI would fully cooperate with Bu Abdullah Group in finding right partners in Pakistan.

Jamshaid Akhtar Sheikh, Senior Vice President, Muhammad Naveed Malik former Senior Vice President ICCI and others also spoke at the occasion.

They maintained that there was a great potential to further boost bilateral trade, investment, and tourism between the UAE and Pakistan.

They were of the view that the close cooperation between UAE and Pakistan would also contribute to promote regional security and economic prosperity.
