Syed Zahid Abbas Shah concludes successful three-week Pakistan visit

PPP Germany President holds meetings with top party leaders

Islamabad: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Germany President Syed Zahid Abbas Shah concluded his successful three-week Pakistan visit along with a PPP delegation on Friday.

During the visit, he held extensive meetings with the top PPP leadership including brief encounters with PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Detailed meetings with the Chairman and the co-Chairman were not possible due to the political situation in Pakistan but the PPP leadership has promised to meet the PPP Germany chapter soon to discuss the issues in detail.

Syed Zahid Abbas Shah met PPP Secretary General Nayyar Bukhari, PPP Vice President Sherry Rehman, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Faisal Karim Kundi and others.

He also held telephonic talks with PPP Parliamentarians Secretary General Farhatullah Babar, Shazia Marri, Nafisa Shah, Jameel Soomro and others.

During the talks, the PPP leaders appreciated Syed Zahid Abbas Shah’s role in Germany, his sacrifices for the party and the overall performance of the Germany chapter.

The PPP leaders were invited to visit Germany at their earliest convenience which they accepted.

In a farewell statement at the conclusion of the Pakistan visit, Syed Zahid Abbas Shah said Imran Khan was voted out from power through a vote of a no-confidence motion with the efforts of the PPP leadership.

Paying tribute to the PPP leadership, he said the party had made history by as Imran Khan was the first PM to be ousted democratically through a vote of no-confidence.

Syed Zahid Abbas Shah said the person who was declared “selected” by the parties and proved himself to be an “undemocratic burden” on the country saw the end of his rule.

He said Shaheed Zufikar Ali Bhutto struggled for democracy throughout his life and challenged every dictator. Being his followers, he said, the party workers followed his footsteps and rendered sacrifices for the country.

 “Our workers will protect democracy and democratic institutions under the dynamic leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari,” he pledged.

Syed Zahid Abbas Shah said the PPP had always struggled against dictators and worked for democracy. “We will keep on following the same policy in future and play an active role in protecting democracy and upholding the democratic principles,” he added.

The PPP veteran said he will return to Pakistan soon for further meetings with the top leadership to discuss the issues of the overseas Pakistan and brief them on the achievements of the PPP Germany chapter.
