Chinese envoy appreciates PM Imran Khan for supportive statements

Islamabad: Chinese Ambassador Nong Rong has appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan for his supportive statements in favour of China.

Addressing the Communist Party of China’s  virtual ‘World Political Parties Summit” here, the envoy said the recent supporting statements by Prime Minister Imran Khan and other Pakistani leaders were very encouraging as it came in difficult times.

“China stands committed to helping Pakistan in challenges it faced and this cooperation with our iron brother would continue despite all odds,” he added.

The Ambassador’s comments came amid a series of pro-China statements by PM Imran Khan who lauded the achievements of the CPC and the Chinese leadership.

In his speech, Burhanullah Bayazeed Kasi, the host and Chairman of Friends of China Forum, said that China, Pakistan friendship had no parallel in the history and both countries were working diligently towards the development and connectivity of the entire region.

On the occasion, Qasim Suri, the chief guest and Deputy Speaker National Assembly, said that in past 100 years, China pulled out over 800 million people out of poverty. “Credit goes to Chairman Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaopeng and Xi Jinping,” he added.

Khurram Elahi, the host of the event, announced the opening of the CPC and world political parties summit. He gave an overview of the summit and said that China, Pakistan friendship was a world model of friendship and cooperation which was unparalleled in the human history.

Zhang Baozhong, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of China Port Holding Company of Gwadar (COPHC), said that in 30 years, China had tranformed immensely.

He said Strong leadership of CPC has helped achieve this transformation. He said Pakistan is like his own home. He said that Pakistan is most safe and invest friendly destination in across the globe.

People from all walks of life including politicians, think tanks, media professionals, activists and students attended the event.

Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and CPC leaders also held a separate meeting to commemorate the 10-year-long partnership between the two parties. They also issued a joint statement vowing to work together to ensure progress and prosperity of the people of the two countries.
