Italy’s Olympic gold medal count rises to seven

Tokyo: Italy’s Massimo Stano won a gold medal in the 20 km Race Walk Gold event at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo on Thursday.

Stano won with a time of one hour, 21 minutes and five seconds, with Japan’s Koki Ikeda and Toshikazu Yamanishi winning silver and bronze respectively.

Italy’s total medal count in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics is now 33: seven golds, 10 silvers and 16 bronzes. This puts Italy in ninth place on the medal table.
