Colourful Chinese New Year celebrations held at China Window

Peshawar: A colourful celebration of the Chinese New Year was held at the China Window, a Chinese cultural and information center.

Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah formally inaugurated the celebrations while newly elected Mayor of Peshawar Haji Zubair Ali cut the New Year’s cake.

A large number of people from different walks of life were present. Addressing the gathering, the Additional Chief Secretary said that there is an everlasting bond of friendship between Pakistan and China which is getting stronger.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahab Ali Shah said that during the recent visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China, the leadership of both the countries reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the Pak-China friendship.

He maintained that the people of Peshawar are sending a message of good wishes to their Chinese brothers and sisters on the occasion of New Year. Shahab Ali Shah remarked that the colorful event held at China Window fully reflected the role of the people of Peshawar in Pak-China friendship.

Newly elected Mayor of Peshawar Haji Zubair Ali cut the Chinese New Year cake, A large number of personalities from different walks of life were present on the occasion. Haji Zubair Ali termed the celebration on the occasion of Chinese New Year as very important and called it an example of Pakistan-China friendship.

Ali in the occasion stated that every Pakistani was proud of the way China has stood by Pakistan in every difficult time.

The newly elected mayor underlined that Peshawar would once again be made a city of flowers and full support would be sought from China in this regard.
