Lahore: The British Airways has completed preparations for the launch of direct flights to Lahore.

The first flight of British Airways will fly from London to Lahore today (October 12).

British diplomatic staff and CAA officials will receive the passengers at Lahore Airport. British Airways will operate four flights a week to London, Lahore and London.

British Airways will use state-of-the-art Boeing 787 aircraft for long journeys from Lahore to London and Heathrow.

The British High Commissioner to Pakistan Christian Turner said that he hoped that the flights of British Airways from Lahore would help in enhancing business and human links as well as promoting tourism.

The British Airways experts had recently expressed satisfaction over the arrangements at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore.

The British Airways suspended its direct flights from Islamabad in 2008 following a suicide bombing at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, which was resumed in 2019.
