Quetta: Election Tribunal Quetta has disqualified Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri as member of National Assembly. He was elected from National Assembly constituency NA 265.

Election Tribunal, headed by Abdullah Baloch, issued the verdict on a writ petition filed by Qasim Suri’s rival candidate from Balochistan National Party ( Mengal ) accusing him of rigging.

In his verdict, the Judge also order holding by-election on the aforementioned seat.

Raisani’s lawyer told the tribunal that a total of 114,000 votes were cast during the polls in NA-265 constituency out of which 52,000 votes were declared invalid.

He alleged that the election was rigged as 52,000 invalid votes could not be verified.

It is to be mentioned here that Lashkari Raisani, Mehmood Khan Achakzai of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Hafiz Hamdullah of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, former speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Raheela Durrani and Qasim Khan Suri of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had contested the election from NA-265 in Quetta.
