Italy: Duomo Cathedral reopened for tourists in Milan

Milan: Milan’s Duomo has reopened to tourists, giving them the opportunity to access not only the cathedral, but also the archaeological area, the rooftop terraces and the museum.

The news follows the recent resumption of public celebration of Mass at the cathedral, under strict health precautions, following its extended closure during the covid-19 lockdown.

The entry ticket has been reduced to half the normal price until 2 June as well as allowing the opportunity to visit the rooftop terraces until 20.00 from Friday to Sunday, an hour more than during the week.

The Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo said that it will offer health workers a free ticket and reduced family tickets “as a sign of thanks for the hard work involved in the fight against covid-19”, reports ANSA.

Visitors will be required to temperature measurement, wear a mask, sanitise their hands and maintain a distance of at least two metres.
