Italy may get a 114MW wind farm in Apulia

Rome: Italy’s wind capacity is on course to grow further with the addition of a new wind farm with a capacity of 114MW, pending permit approvals.

Italian firm Yellow Energy has requested permits to install 19 turbines with a capacity of 6MW each in the southern region of Apulia.

A storage system with a capacity of 40MW also will be installed, for total project capacity of 154MW.

The plant is expected to produce about 331 GWh/yr and be completed 15 months after the start of construction, according to the documentation.

Other onshore wind projects recently have requested permits for projects from Apulia to Lazio with a total capacity of 276MW.
