Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese presents credentials to President Arif Alvi

Islamabad: Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan Andreas Ferrarese on Tuesday presented his credentials to President Dr Arif Alvi at ceremony held at the President’s House.

Ambassador Andreas Ferrarese said he wished to enhance Pakistan-Italy ties to new level during his term.

He said both the countries had a huge potential to enhance trade and business relations. The envoy said numerous Pakistanis worked in Italy and were playing their role in progress of the country.

High Commissioner-designate of South Africa Mthuthuzeli Madikiza, Ambassador-designate of Egypt Tarek Dahroug, High Commissioner-designate of Sri Lanka Vice Admiral Mohan Wijewickrama (retd), Ambassador-designate of Iraq Hamid Abbas Ali Al-Aramshawi, Ambassador-designate of Qatar Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman bin Faisal Al Thani and Ambassador-designate of Switzerland Benedict Edouard de Cerjat also presented their credentials to the president.

Felicitating the newly appointed high commissioners and ambassadors-designate to Pakistan, the president expressed the hope that they would work for further expanding and promoting economic, trade and political relations with Pakistan. Later, the high commissioners and ambassadors separately called on the president.

President Alvi said Pakistan wanted to promote relations with all friendly countries in the areas of mutual interest. He said Pakistan was making efforts for promoting peace and stability in the region.
