Pakistan to approach FATF president against India’s confessions of manipulating forum

Islamabad: Pakistan said Monday it was considering to approach the president of Financial Action Task Force for an appropriate action against the government of India after its confessions of politicizing the forum.

Responding to the queries of media persons in Islamabad today (Monday), Foreign Office Spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudri said the Indian statement vindicates Pakistan’s longstanding stance on India’s negative role in FATF.

He said following the recent confession by Indian government, India’s credentials for assessing Pakistan in FATF as co-chair of the Joint Group are subject to questions, which we urge FATF to look into.

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on July 18 had confessed that “the Narendra Modi government ensured that Pakistan remains on the grey list of FATF”.
