Rehman Malik urges government go to the UN, Interpol against India

Islamabad: Former Interior Minister and Chairman Institute of Research and Reforms Senator Rehman Malik has said that cricket should be considered as a game and everything should not be taken on the nerves of the government or the nation.

He said that everyone was shocked by the cancellation of the New Zealand cricket team’s tour of Pakistan but such matters should be looked at wisely instead of emotionally so as to minimize the damage. “Instead of blaming others, we need to fix the flaws in our security system,” he said.

Rehman Malik said that there is no doubt that India has been hatching various conspiracies against Pakistan from day one and does not miss any opportunity to harm Pakistan but the question arises what is our counter strategy against Indian hybrid wars against Pakistan. He said that the alert for the attack on the New Zealand team was issued by a terrorist Ehsanullah Ehsan against whom the Pakistan had registered two FIRs and he is now sitting in Turkey and conspiring against Pakistan. He said that Ehsanullah Ehsan has many masters who are using him against Pakistan.

He asked the government to explain why the alert issued by a terrorist was not verified and why it was not kept secret. He also said that in the past, many wireless sets have been stolen from the police which are being used by terrorists and criminal elements and they listen to the police conversations. He further said that Ehsanullah Ehsan has re-released a video in which he confesses that he had issued the alert. Now that he has confessed to the crime and the government has evidence of India’s involvement, why doesn’t the government go to the United Nations and Interpol against India and Ehsanullah Ehsan, he questioned. Rehman Malik urged the government to immediately take up the issue with the United Nations and Interpol that India wants to sabotage peace through terrorists and use them against Pakistan. He said “I also demand that in order to arrest Ehsanullah Ehsan, the government should put pressure on Turkey through the United Nations and Inter”. He said that a separate elite force should be formed for the security of foreign teams visiting Pakistan.

The former Interior Minister said that he had said long ago that our information technology system is insecure and India hacks more than 3,000 web sites in Pakistan every day as it had hacked our Election Commission website and stole important national data. “We have not yet built a strong firewall and the PTA should build a strong firewall on an emergency basis and ensure cyber security,” he said.

Responding a question, Rehman Malik said that so far the present government has not been able to come up with any policy that is noteworthy and commendable. He said that it is unfortunate to predict that the value of dollar will go up to 180 and then to 200 rupees. He said that during the tenure of our government when the value of rupee fell, the President Asif Ali Zardari gave him the task of controlling and after day and night efforts, the value of rupee was controlled within 48 hours. He said that everyone knows that a mafia is involved in devaluing the rupee, including SBP officials and if the government wanted, it can prevent the rupee from depreciating further.

In response to another question, Rehman Malik said that most of our laws are weak and even if there is a law, it lacks implementation. He said that it is a crime to run a fake news but the government should not introduce any media policy which would affect the freedom of press and freedom of expression. He said that Imran Khan has already been included in the red list for freedom of expression.

He said that CPEC is the brainchild of Asif Ali Zardari and the way it is progressing today is not being tolerated by the enemy and many countries in the west. He said that Pak-China friendship would be further strengthened, there was no difference between the two countries but it was just India’s propaganda as CPEC project would prove to be an important milestone in Pakistan’s development.

On the issue of Afghanistan, Rehman Malik said that the international community should not wall off the Taliban but should accept their government and bring them into the international mainstream. He said that if the Taliban’s government was not accepted, the situation in Afghanistan will get worse and the whole country will become a hotbed of terrorists. In the coming days, he sees factionalism among the Taliban, which is not a good omen for the whole region, he said. He said that there are currently thousands of terrorists hiding in Afghanistan among which are elements of TTP, ISIS and Jihadis returned from Syria and they will be used against Pakistan and China.

To a question, Rehman Malik said that the difficulties of PPP have not abated, our leadership is still facing cases and victimizations.
