Gilgit-Baltistan to become ‘Base Camp’ of CPEC: Pakistani Minister

Rawalpindi: Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Affairs Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has said that the GB will become the ‘Base Camp’ of the flagship China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

In a statement officially released here, Gandapur maintained that around Pakistani Rs 370 billion development projects were being carried out for development and prosperity of the GB areas.

He mentioned that the government led by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) had launched mega projects worth billions of rupees for the development of Gilgit-Baltistan.

The minister acknowledged that the GB people always expressed their deep commitment to Pakistan, adding the area had been blessed with immense natural resources.

“GB will prove to be the country’s economic hub and the ‘Base Camp’ of the CPEC project,” he added.

Gandapur remarked that the government was providing all possible resources betterment of the people and areas of the GB.
