Islamabad: Pakistan President Dr Arif Alvi has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a blessing for Pakistan.

Speaking to Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Chief Minister Muhammad Khalid Khursheed here at his office, President Alvi maintained that CPEC projects will develop GB and provide job opportunities to the youth.

He mentioned that China has been generously investing in Pakistan under the gigantic CPEC plan.

Alvi assured the CM that the Pakistani government was also carrying out development projects in GB and was willing to lend a hand for GB’s prosperity.

The GB CM called for timely completion of Gilgit-Baltistan development package projects being executed under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) announced by the federal government.

Khursheed told President Alvi, that he had directed the authorities concerned to complete the projects by utilizing 100 percent allocated amount in GB.

He noted that about 20 Mega Watts Hanzel hydro power project, 26 MW Shagarthang, 16 MW Naltar, four MW Chilas, 250 beds Skardu hospital, 50 beds cardiac hospital, regional grid, Poly Technical institute Skardu and mega roads projects were being completed soon.

The CM agreed with President Alvi that CPEC was changing the outlook of the region and providing job opportunities.
