100,000 ton Urea fertilizer to reach Pakistan within a week from China: Imran Khan

Mailsi: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that 100,000 ton Urea fertilizer will reach the country within a week time from China.

Addressing a public gathering in Mailsi city of district Vehari, he informed that the government was providing subsidy worth Rs 132 billion on fertilizers.

The PM maintained that the government was making all out efforts to make farmers financially strong. “The farmers well being is directly linked to country’s development. 100,000 ton Urea fertilizer will reach the country within a week time from China,” he added.

China is also helping Pakistan to boost the agriculture sector under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He announced to bring about legislation to make south Punjab a separate province and to invest a whopping Pakistani Rs 500 billion on its uplift.

The Prime Minister mentioned that Federal government had decided to give a Rs 500 billion development package to south Punjab.

He lauded record tax collection in the country that enabled government to provide relief to the people. “More tax collection would bring more relief. I am happy to note that farmers are earning higher profits,” he stated.

Earlier, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar, while addressing the public meeting, announced mega development projects for Vehari district including a university, a sports stadium besides funding to improve sewerage, water supply systems and road network.
