Islamabad: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a bilateral meeting with Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhridinovich in Islamabad on the sidelines 48th Session of the OIC Council Foreign Ministers, Monday.

The two Ministers expressed satisfaction at the steadily growing bilateral ties and exchanged views on further expanding the partnership.

Foreign Minister Qureshi apprized his Tajik counterpart about Pakistan’s Vision Central Asia policy that focuses on enhanced and result-oriented engagements with Central Asian countries, including Tajikistan. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to early completion of flagship project of CASA-1000 and emphasized to promote trade and economic linkages.

They also discussed the fast-evolving regional situation, especially Afghanistan and committed to work together for the establishment of sustainable peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The two sides noted the excellent cooperation between the two countries at international and regional forums, including in the UN, OIC, SCO & ECO. The Tajik side appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to OIC.
