PPP says Imran Khan weakening foundations of state

Islamabad: Sindh Information and Labour Minister, Saeed Ghani, has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has been bent on weakening the very foundations of the country just to save his own rule.

Speaking at a press conference here on Friday, Sindh Information Minister said that PM Imran Khan had been acting on an anti-Pakistan agenda by isolating the country in the international community.

He said that Imran Khan had named the United States just to play with the sentiments of the masses and prove his anti-American credentials. He said that Imran Khan had been doing nothing except safeguarding his own interests to preserve his rule.

Ghani said that Imran Khan had been working to do compromise the foreign relations of Pakistan. He emphasized that PM Imran Khan had emerged as a security threat to the country as he had been working on the anti-state agenda.

He said that PM had the plan to cause anarchy in the country and make people fight against each other.

He said that leaders of democratic countries all over the world chose to open-heartedly accept their defeat and step down whenever they were faced with the situation that they didn’t enjoy the confidence of the majority members of the parliament.

He said the heads of the government after losing the confidence of the majority elected representatives always provide the opportunity to the parliament to elect a new leader of the house.

He said that Imran Khan had opted to cling on to power despite clearly seeing that the Opposition in the National Assembly had now secured the confidence of the majority members of the parliament.

Ghani said that such an attitude of Imran Khan was highly sorrowful when he portrayed himself as a principled politician and biggest champion of the democracy.

He said that Imran Khan’s allegation that America had been financing the Opposition for furthering its no-confidence move against him was completely baseless as the People’s Party since last one year had been advocating for filing the no-trust motion against the PM while Bilawal Bhutto Zardari constantly talked about this option since November and December last year.

He recalled the earlier baseless allegations of Imran Khan that the Sindh government’s finances were being used to buy the loyalties of the treasury legislators. He said that all the allegations levelled by Imran Khan against the Opposition were completely baseless and a pack of lies.

To a question, Saeed Ghani maintained that all the major political entities in Sindh including PPP, MQM, PML(N), PTI, Jamaat-e-Islami, were of the consensus opinion that division of Sindh shouldn’t take place to form a new province.
