Full proof security should be ensured during Muharram: Sajid Hussain Turi

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Sajid Hussain Turi met Inspector General Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, DIG Kohat, and other police officials, in which peace and order in the province, fool-proof security arrangements during Muharram were discussed in detail.

Federal Minister urged that during Muharram, fool-proof security arrangements should be ensured in Kurram, Kohat, and adjacent areas to ensure timely prevention of any untoward incidents.

He said that to improve the traffic police in Kurram district, motorcycles and other equipment should be provided to officials urging that traffic signals should be installed at chowks so that the traffic flow could be improved in the city.

He said that the people of Karam will fully cooperate with the police and administration to ensure peace and order during Muharram.

In the meeting, it was emphasized to take coordinated measures to prevent all types of drug and other crimes in Kurram district and drug addicts will be sent to regular rehabilitation centers. The problems faced by the police in the merged districts were also discussed in the meeting particularly the regularization of the levy force personnel and the problems of the Moharras.

Sajid Turi said that training and equipping the personnel with modern facilities is the need of the hour to improve the policing in the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Turi said that sacrifices of KP Police against terrorism are unforgettable and highly regarded.
