Italy: Ambrosini believes Milan squad ‘always struggles’ against defensive teams

Milan: AC Milan came away with one point from their encounter with Roma last night and it’s two points dropped for the Rossoneri. Once again, they struggled to break down a defensive team, as highlighted by Massimo Ambrosini.

The Rossoneri controlled most of the game (especially in the first half) and did well in the first phase. However, they struggled to create chances and only amassed one shot on target the entire game, which was the equaliser of course.

Speaking to DAZN after the game, as cited by MilanNews, Milan legend Massimo Ambrosini shared his thoughts. He believes that Roma played just the game they wanted to, while the Rossoneri struggled to express themselves.

“At the beginning of the match, I would have said that one point would have been better for Roma, now it’s better for Milan given how I panned out. A match that was broken up by many injuries. Milan always struggles when they find closed and defensive teams, failing to express themselves with quick transitions. Roma played an excellent game anyway,” he stated.

Milan will take on Cremonese next and it’s indeed a must-win for the Rossoneri, who then will face Lazio at the weekend. They will need all the points they can get in order to have a chance of finishing in the top four.
