Italy to get 3rd NRRP tranche within weeks – Gentiloni
Rome: Italy will get the long-delayed third tranche of EU funding for its National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) within weeks after agreeing on modifications with the European Commission, Economy Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni said.
"Unlocking the NRRP funds is very important for the Italian economy and very important for the EU," Gentiloni said.
"The success of the Italian plan is part of the success of the European plan. "Following the change that has been agreed, Italy will receive the third instalment in the coming weeks and work is underway on the changes that will allow it to also request reimbursement of the fourth instalment.
"All this confirms the constructive, positive work Rome and Brussels have been doing.
“It is a positive understanding for us.
"We have worked hard in recent weeks in a constructive way, and I think the solution is very positive.
"Italy will meet the targets for the third and fourth instalments.
"This is good news for the European Commission, as it is for Italy".
