Iranian Consul General reiterates Iran’s keen interest in actively participating in CPEC

Peshawar: The Iranian Consul General in Peshawar, Ali Banafsha Khawa, has reiterated Iran’s keen interest in actively participating in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He expressed strong commitment to regional peace and stability. The senior diplomat said CPEC was good for the shoe region as he highlighted the significance of cooperation among neighboring nations for mutual progress and prosperity.

During his visit to the Peshawar Press Club, the Consul General engaged with media representatives, discussing various topics, including CPEC, Iran-Pakistan trade relations, and promoting people-to-people contact between the two countries.

He also emphasized that Iran had completed its part of the Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline project, urging Pakistan to fulfill its commitments to ensure the project’s success and mutual benefits.

The event at the press club facilitated open discussions and allowed for constructive conversations to enhance bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan.

The President of the Peshawar Press Club, Arshad Aziz Malik, and other esteemed members warmly welcomed the Iranian Consul General, fostering greater understanding and cooperation between the two nations.

Furthermore, during the event, Shabbir Hussain Imam, a press club member, briefed the Consul General on the PPC Library, which is named in honor of Syed Abul Hassan Jafri, a local journalist who also served in the Iranian Consulate.

Ali Banafsha Khawa stressed the importance of continuous updates to enrich the library’s knowledge resources, turning it into an essential hub for intellectual growth and understanding. Overall, the event served as a platform to promote peaceful regional development and strengthen ties between Iran and Pakistan.
