Islamabad: Pakistani Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng held a positive bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Summit in New York.

Both leaders expressed their satisfaction regarding the consistent progress of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Pakistan and emphasized the pivotal role of CPEC in Pakistan’s socio-economic development.

According to an official statement issued here, they jointly reaffirmed their strong commitment to collaborative efforts aimed at achieving shared objectives.

Additionally, both leaders expressed satisfaction regarding the celebratory events held in both countries to commemorate the 10th anniversary of CPEC.

They also concurred on the importance of enhancing their cooperation in multilateral forums.

This meeting was characterized by the customary warmth and friendliness that has long been a defining feature of the strong Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

During their meeting, the two leaders engaged in discussions covering a wide spectrum of issues related to their bilateral relationship.

This encompassed topics such as the CPEC and their cooperation in economic and financial matters. Prime Minister Kakar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for China on fundamental issues, commending China’s steadfast backing of Pakistan’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, and its socio-economic development.

On the occasion, Vice-President Han emphasized the exceptional and enduring nature of the Pakistan-China friendship, which has endured the test of time due to the deep fraternal bonds between the people of both nations.

He emphasized Pakistan’s unique position in China’s regional diplomacy as a close neighbor and a reliable ally.

Vice- President Han pledged China’s continued efforts to safeguard Pakistan’s core interests and contribute to the economic development and prosperity of the Pakistani people.

Prime Minister Kakar and Vice-President Han stressed on the necessity of maintaining the momentum of high-level exchanges between Pakistan and China.

Prime Minister Kakar extended an invitation to Vice-President Han to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience, which was graciously accepted.
