‘Strive in unity,’ Chinese President tells nation on country’s 74th National Day

Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday called on his countrymen to “strive in unity” to make China strong.

Addressing the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, Xi urged the nation to “firm up confidence” in the relentless endeavor toward building a strong China and realizing national rejuvenation, local English daily China News reported.

“Our strength comes from unity and confidence is more valuable than gold,” said Xi at a grand reception held in Beijing.

The future is bright and the nation should continue to surmount difficulties and march forward, he added.
