LCCI celebrates Chinese National Day, Pakistan-China ties highlighted

Lahore: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) celebrated the 74th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.

The event was attended by various dignitaries and business leaders. It celebrated China’s founding anniversary, highlighted the strong economic ties between China and Pakistan, and emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation and partnership in various sectors of the economy.

As a special guest, Acting Consul General of China, Cao Ke, emphasized the significance of Lahore as a pivotal city and praised the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry for its efforts in promoting trade and industry.

He emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing and technology transfer between China and LCCI, underlining the value of mutual learning.

Cao Ke noted that 2023 marks the 10th anniversary of both the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the Belt and Road Initiative, along with the 74th anniversary of China’s founding.

He emphasized the transformative impact of CPEC on Pakistan’s economy, with significant investments, and mentioned the upcoming Main Line 1 (ML-1) Project launch.

Cao Ke also pledged continued support for Pakistani businesses, facilitating their participation in events like the China International Import Expo (CIIE) and the Canton Fair.

In his speech, LCCI President Kashif Anwar expressed honor at hosting important Chinese business leaders who play a crucial role in bringing business communities from both countries closer together.

He extended warm congratulations to China on its National Day and praised China’s remarkable progress in various fields, serving as an inspiration to other nations.

Kashif Anwar highlighted the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China, which has deep roots dating back to 1950. He emphasized that CPEC has added significant value to their mutual ties and shifted the focus from geopolitics to geo-economics.

The President pointed out the infrastructure development and numerous projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which have laid a solid foundation for technology and knowledge transfer from China through direct investments and joint ventures in various sectors of the economy. Kashif Anwar stressed the responsibility of organizations like the Lahore Chamber of Commerce in promoting partnerships, which are not only essential for the development of both countries but also for regional and global peace, stability, and prosperity.

He also mentioned the Chinese culture’s tradition of assigning a symbol at the beginning of each Chinese Year and expressed hope that 2023, “The Year of the Rabbit,” would bring hope, longevity, peace, and prosperity to all.
