China has consistently advocated for Pakistan’s growth and development through CPEC: KASB Group chief

Islamabad: Chairman of KASB Group Nasir Ali Shah Bukhari has said that China had consistently advocated for Pakistan’s growth and development through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He maintained that CPEC had acted as a catalyst for Pakistan’s economic progress, with significant infrastructure projects like the Gwadar port, Gwadar East-Bay Expressway, and Sahiwal Power Plant forming a strong foundation.

Speaking at the event “10 Years of Belt and Road Initiative – CPEC” here, Bukhari said that CPEC was launched as a game-changer project in Pakistan, and it changed the livelihoods of millions of people in the country.

He mentioned that CPEC, since its inception had opened opportunities for economic and social welfare in Pakistan, including job creation, personnel exchanges, poverty reduction, and relief projects, as detailed in a report by Pakistan’s KASB KTrade Securities. The report highlights CPEC’s substantial contributions to industries like energy, infrastructure, agriculture, and textiles, he added.

In his speech, Fawad Hasan Fawad, the Federal Minister for Privatisation of Pakistan, emphasized the role of CPEC in fostering a global perspective and the Chinese approach to future possibilities.

In his comments, Projects Management specialist Hassan Daud But debunked rumors surrounding the project and stressed its decade-long contribution to Pakistan’s sustainable development.

“CPEC is now transitioning into a phase of high-quality development, with a focus on science and technology, agriculture, and improving people’s livelihoods,” he added.
