Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf on Tuesday said world peace was interlinked with the resolution of the Palestine and Kashmir issue in line with the aspirations of Kashmiri and Palestinian people.

The speaker, in his message on the day of the United Nations Organization, said the prominent goal for the formation of the UNO was to maintain global peace.

He said that the nefarious and barbaric policies of India and Israel had been exposed with their atrocities on innocent children and women in Kashmir and Palestine.

The right to self-determination of the people of Palestine and Kashmir could not be suppressed by cruelty and coercion, he added.

He also called upon the UN to play a proactive role to immediately halt the genocide of the oppressed Palestinian and Kashmiri people by Israel and India.

The United Nations should take notice of the violations of basic human rights in Palestine and Kashmir, he stressed.

The speaker said the UN had emerged as a ray of hope for the whole world before Seventy-Eight years and Pakistan was an active member of the UNO since its establishment.

He also underscored the role of Pakistani missions in peace operations around the world that reflected Pakistan’ supportive stance for UN.

The speaker said the government and people of Pakistan stood with UN to eliminate terrorism.

He said Pakistan had always condemned terrorism in any region of the world as Pakistan had played the role of a frontline state in the war against terrorism.

He added, ” the sacrifices rendered by Pakistani forces in the UN peacekeeping mission are unmatchable.”
