Chinese police delegation visits Civil Secretariat in Lahore, enhanced partnership discussed

Lahore: An eight-member delegation from the Chinese province of Jiangsu police, led by Tan Yongsheng, Deputy Director General of the Public Security Department, visited the Civil Secretariat in Lahore, expressing their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation.

Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman extended a warm welcome to the delegates on behalf of the caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, conveying good wishes.

He emphasized the value placed on the relationship with China and expressed a keen interest in expanding partnerships across various sectors, including education, health, and the environment.

The Chief Secretary highlighted Punjab’s desire to leverage China’s expertise in addressing environmental pollution and smog.

On this occasion, Tan Yongsheng acknowledged Punjab as a hub of economic activities and emphasized that the exchange of delegations between the two countries would foster bilateral cooperation.

He commended the professionalism of the Punjab Police. The delegation expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by the Chief Secretary Punjab.

Mian Shakeel Ahmed, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), briefed the delegation on security measures in place for Chinese nationals in the province. The delegation was also taken to visit the tomb of Anarkali located in the Civil Secretariat.
