Italy joins the Combined Space Operations Initiative

Rome: With the signature of the Undersecretary of State for Defense Sen. Isabella Rauti, delegated by Minister Crosetto, the Italian Defense Thursday becames part of the multinational partnership in the Combined Space Operations (CSpO) space sector.

The objective of the CSpO is to increase cooperation and coordination between member countries, as well as the promotion of interoperability for greater autonomy of action in space. The initiative aims to optimize the use of technological resources to improve the safety and resilience of defense space missions.

Started in 2014, the CSpO has seen Australia, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States join. From this year, Norway, Japan and Italy are added.

The Italian Defense, by virtue of today’s membership, will sit at the table of the initiative’s Governance body.
