Pakistani-China joint funded open-air gym inaugurated at the Pakistan-China Park

Karachi: A Pakistani-China joint funded open-air gym was inaugurated at the Pakistan-China Friendship Park on Kashmir Road here.

The gym has been built as part of collaborative effort between Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab and China’s Consul General in Karachi, Yang Yundong.

In his speech at the inauguration, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, underscored the pivotal role that China consistently plays in Pakistan’s development and stability.

He expressed sincere appreciation to the Chinese government for their ongoing support and the establishment of modern facilities at the park, reflecting the strong ties between the two nations.

The official opening of the open-air gym is a collaborative effort between Mayor Karachi and China’s Consul General, Yang Yundong.

The event also witnessed the presence of notable figures such as People’s Party District Central General Secretary Dil Muhammad, Director General Parks and Horticulture Junaidullah Khan, Deputy Commissioner East Altaf Sheikh, and various heads of departments from KMC.

Particularly significant was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation between the Chinese Consulate and KMC, symbolizing a commitment to further collaboration in various aspects.

The inauguration ceremony featured a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony, emphasizing the enduring friendship between Pakistan and China.

Mayor Wahab took a moment to commend the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) for the establishment of the Pakistan China Friendship Park, viewing such initiatives as instrumental in bringing the two countries closer.

He noted that the friendship between Pakistan and China has historical roots, citing the legacies of leaders like Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Asif Ali Zardari, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who have all contributed to nurturing this enduring relationship.

Highlighting the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor as a significant milestone, Mayor Wahab expressed gratitude to the Chinese government for its role in stabilizing Pakistan’s economy and generating employment opportunities through this transformative economic corridor project.

He emphasized that the deep friendship between the two countries is exemplified by such collaborative ventures.

AMayor Wahab expressed optimism that the Pak-China Friendship Park, with its modern amenities, would further strengthen the bond between the two brotherly nations.

Visitors to the park, he anticipated, would be grateful to the Chinese government for its contributions to this symbol of enduring friendship.
