Three Karachi Universities, UK Academic Team to launch a new training programme

Islamabad: UPSIGN Charity (www.upsign.org.uk) academic team UK/Pakistan universities, will deliver three training workshops in April in Karachi as part of a new 3-year programme (funded by the Rangoonwala Foundation) to train teachers delivering STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Education in universities and affiliated colleges across Pakistan.

These will be held at PNEC (20 to 21st April), Sir Syed UET (22nd to 23rd April) and NED UET (26th and 27th April) in Karachi. One of the most important components of the training is to help build inclusive learning environments and reduce barriers for female students in Pakistani educational institutes.

Madiha Sajid (Education Lead of UPSIGN who is based at Imperial College London, UK in the UK) mentioned that “We are delighted to roll out our first three training workshops in Karachi in April 2024. Through these interactive workshops, and hands-on exercises, we will provide a stimulating learning environment for STEM educationists, that will foster critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and creativity”.
