Dar speaks to UK’s top diplomat, reiterates Pakistan’s resolve to defend national interests

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar spoke with British Foreign Secretary, David Lammy on Sunday and briefed him about the current regional situation.

He shared India’s false accusations, baseless propaganda, and unilateral measures including illegal decision to hold Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance which is a clear violation of India’s international obligations.

Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering resolve to defend its national interests while continuing to promote peace and stability in the region.

The UK Foreign Secretary emphasized the importance of de-escalating the situation through dialogue and peaceful resolution of issues.

Appreciating these efforts, Ishaq Dar conveyed Pakistan’s readiness to participate in any independent and transparent investigation to ascertain the facts.

Both leaders agreed to maintain active contact regarding the evolving situation.
