Cambodian Olympic Committee Delegation visits Zhengzhou for wushu exchange

Zhengzhou: On May 14, a delegation from the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC), led by Secretary General and State Secretary for Sports Vath Chamroeun, visited Zhengzhou city, the capital of central China’s Henan province, for a Wushu (Chinese martial arts) exchange with Henan Wushu Association.
Accompanied by Ai Yanding, President of Henan Wushu Association, the Cambodian delegation toured the province’s sports training center, where they observed a practice session by Henan Wushu team. Impressed by the athletes’ professionalism and technical skills, Vath Chamroeun praised their performance and presented them with the emblem of the NOCC as a gesture of goodwill.
During a subsequent meeting, Ai Yanding warmly welcomed the Cambodian guests and highlighted the enduring friendship between China and Cambodia. He emphasized Henan’s historical significance as a birthplace of Chinese martial arts and expressed a strong commitment to deepening cooperation in field of Wushu. He also noted the potential for broader cultural and economic exchanges within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Vath Chamroeun echoed these sentiments, calling Wushu an important bridge of friendship between the two countries. He shared Cambodia’s plan to host the “Southeast Asia–China Wushu Culture Festival” in 2027 and extended a sincere invitation to the Henan Wushu Association to participate. He also expressed hope for strong support from the Henan Provincial Sports Bureau.
