Islamabad: In a significant boost for Pakistani students dreaming of studying in Europe, the Government of Portugal has announced its fully funded scholarship program for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The initiative, widely regarded as one of the most generous in Europe, offers students from around the world, including Pakistan, a chance to pursue undergraduate, master’s, and PhD degrees at some of Portugal’s top universities.
The scholarships not only cover full tuition fees but also provide a generous monthly stipend of €1,250 to help students manage their living expenses. Courses are available in both English and Portuguese, giving students greater flexibility in choosing their academic path. The program also includes support for health insurance and visa procedures, depending on the host university.
Applicants must demonstrate academic merit, language proficiency, and a clear motivation to study in Portugal. While eligibility is open to all international students, Pakistani students who have completed their previous level of education — whether high school, bachelor’s, or master’s — are especially encouraged to apply. A strong academic background and language test scores (such as IELTS or TOEFL) are essential, along with personal documents like a statement of purpose, recommendation letters, and a valid passport.
Beyond the classroom, the scholarship offers an immersive experience in one of Europe’s most vibrant and culturally rich countries. With its warm climate, historical cities, and friendly people, Portugal promises not only a world-class education but also a lifestyle that encourages personal growth and global networking.
Applications are now open, and the deadline to apply is September 30, 2025. For many young Pakistanis, this could be the opportunity of a lifetime, to study, grow, and succeed on the international stage, with Portugal as their gateway to the world.
