Islamabad: Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Khalid Hussain Magsi, was called on by a high-level delegation from the British High Commission in Islamabad, led by Mr. Cromac Dreelan, Head of Strategic Engagement and Understanding, and comprising Ms. Huda Ikram, Senior Political Adviser, and Mr. Ismail Khan, Principal Adviser (Foreign Affairs).

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on regional stability and explored avenues for mutual cooperation in science, technology, innovation, and education. Federal Minister Khalid Hussain Magsi emphasized that Pakistan and the United Kingdom share a relationship built on mutual trust and respect. He expressed Pakistan’s strong desire to work collaboratively with the international community for peace and prosperity in the region.

The Federal Minister highlighted that the confidence of the international community in Pakistan is steadily growing, and the world increasingly recognizes Pakistan as a responsible and peace-loving state. He noted that Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic approach is gaining appreciation on global platforms.

While addressing regional challenges, Federal Minister Khalid Hussain Magsi strongly condemned the ongoing brutal Israeli attacks on innocent civilians in Gaza. He urged the United Kingdom to play an effective and proactive role in stopping these atrocities and upholding international humanitarian law. He emphasized that the world cannot remain silent in the face of such grave human rights violations.

Referring to national security and the recent tensions with India, the Minister stated that the armed forces of Pakistan have made it clear to the world that there can be no compromise on the country’s sovereignty. He reiterated the Pakistan Army’s unwavering commitment to defending national integrity and responding firmly to any external threats.

Discussing recent developments in the region, Federal Minister Khalid Hussain Magsi said that the Kashmir issue has once again come into global focus, and Pakistan remains committed to highlighting it at all relevant forums. He also stressed that Pakistan seeks to promote peace and stability in the region in collaboration with the international community.

Mr. Cromac Dreelan appreciated Pakistan’s role in maintaining regional peace and reaffirmed the United Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing scientific and educational cooperation with Pakistan. He also acknowledged the resilience and vision of Pakistan’s leadership in steering the country towards technological progress and international engagement.

The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing their resolve to strengthen bilateral collaboration and work jointly toward shared goals.
