London: Pakistan High Commission, London hosted a grand Convention of Pakistan – origin British Councilors at the High Commission today. The event was attended by delegates from across the UK, representing all the Political Parties in the United Kingdom, from Greater London to Midlands, Manchester, Bradford, Birmingham and Glasgow.

More the 200 Councilors, Mayors, Deputy Mayors and Leaders of the Councils participated the event and appreciated the efforts of the High Commissioner, Dr. Mohammad Faisal for gathering the Community leadership and the grass-root level, enabling them to connect with their colleagues and peers from across the UK.

Councillors and delegates including Chairman, UK-Pakistan Kashmiri Councillors Forum Mr. Liaqat Ali MBE, Nottingham Council Sheriff Mr. Zafran Khan, Mr. Tariq Dar (Brent Council), Ms. Neghat Khan (Nottingham), Mr. Nazam Azam (Bradord), Mr. Majid Mehmood (Birmingham) and Ms. Samiya Chaudhry (Honslough) addressed the convention.

In his remarks, the High Commissioner praised British-Pakistani leaders as “cultural ambassadors” who embody Pakistan’s values of hard work, resilience, and compassion. He emphasized their vital role in strengthening democracy, fostering multiculturalism, and serving as a bridge between the UK and Pakistan. “The strength of our nation abroad is reflected in the dignity, unity, and contributions of our diaspora,” he stated. “When you rise, Pakistan rises with you.”

Addressing challenges, the High Commissioner condemned attempts to stigmatize the Pakistani community based on isolated incidents, urging leaders to actively counter negative stereotypes by amplifying success stories in education, business, healthcare, and public service.

He called on the community to empower women & youth, preserve cultural heritage, and explore opportunities in Pakistan’s growing economy. “Pakistan is a land of vast opportunities—we invite our diaspora to partner in its progress,” he said.

The High Commissioner reaffirmed commitment to supporting the community through consular services, bilateral engagement, and advocacy. The event concluded with a resolute message: “Let us rise united, proud, and forward-looking, presenting Pakistan to the world as a nation of strength, talent, and dignity.”
