6 sixes in an over! Bulgaria cricketer recreates Yuvraj Singh’s iconic feat vs Gibraltar

Sofia: In a remarkable achievement, Bulgarian cricketer Manan Bashir became only the sixth batter to smash six consecutive sixes in an over in international cricket.
The wicketkeeper-batter attained the massive landmark during Bulgaria’s Tri-Series final encounter against Gibraltar at National Sports Academy at Vasil Levski, Sofia.
The feat occurred during the 16th over of Bulgaria’s innings when Manan Bashir was playing alongside the well-set Isa Zaroo. Gibraltar captain Iain Latin’s decision to bring Kabir Mirpuri into the attack proved disastrous for his side, with the bowler conceding six successive sixes in this third over.
Manan Bashir emerged as the hero for Bulgaria, with his late blitz powering them to a clinical victory in the high-voltage contest. He joined Herschelle Gibbs, Yuvraj Singh, Kieron Pollard, Jaskaran Malhotra and Dipendra Singh Airee, becoming the sixth batter to unlock the feat.
Bulgaria won the toss and invited Gibraltar to bat first. Philip Raikes and Michael Raikes struck valuable knocks, setting the foundation of a challenging score for Gibraltar. However, Prakash Mishra’s sensational three-wicket haul helped Bulgaria bounce back, reducing their opponents to 194 for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.
In response, Bulgaria claimed the driving seat during the run chase, riding on exceptional knocks from openers Chris Lakov and Isa Zaroo. However, Manan Bashir’s unbelievable nine-ball 43 was like icing on the cake, ensuring their comfortable win in the match.
