Durrani calls for stronger Pakistan-Turkmenistan trade and energy partnerships

Islamabad: Former Federal Minister and Senior Politician Muhammad Ali Durrani met with Turkmenistan’s Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov on Wednesday to discuss enhancing trade and bilateral contacts.

The Turkmen Ambassador warmly welcomed Durrani who conveyed a message of goodwill from the people of Pakistan to Turkmenistan’s President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan.

The Ambassador shared details about his government’s initiatives and incentives for the promotion of foreign investment and trade.

Durrani said that Turkmenistan had been a key stop on the Silk Road and must play a greater role in promoting trade in the region. He said Turkmenistan, rich in oil and gas, can establish major partnerships with the private sector in Pakistan’s energy sector.

Durrani emphasized that increased trade and interpersonal exchanges could play a vital role in fostering peace and prosperity across the region.

Ambassador Movlamov welcomed Durrani’s suggestions for promoting contacts among the business community and people, as well as for enhancing trade.

The Ambassador also assured cooperation in efforts to implement Durrani’s proposals and presented a commemorative shield to Durrani.
