France starts airdrops

Paris: France has begun air-dropping 40 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza, as it urges Israel to allow full access to the area, which it says is slipping into famine.

President Emmanuel Macron wrote on social media platform X that airdrops are not enough, emphasizing that Israel must open full humanitarian access to address the risk of famine.

Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated that France is sending four flights, each carrying 10 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Gaza from Jordan.
