Henan's power load tops 90m

Zhengzhou: At 12:47 p.m. on August 4, Henan’s power load hit 91.33 million kilowatts, topping 90 million for the first time on record. This is the fifth record high in 2025, exceeding the previous peak of 89.76 million kilowatts on July 15 by 1.57 million kilowatts, up 1.7%. It also marks an increase of 10.09 million kilowatts, or 12.4%, compared with the historical high of 81.24 million kilowatts set on July 24, 2024. At present, the Henan power grid is operating normally with a secure electricity supply.

Since July, Henan has seen prolonged, widespread high temperatures. Rising demand for air conditioning and other cooling loads, coupled with robust economic growth, has kept electricity consumption across the province at sustained high-load levels.
