Italy 40 up 0.81%

Rome: Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Industrials and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.81% to hit a new 5-year high.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI), which rose 4.18% or 0.90 points to trade at 22.42 at the close. Meanwhile, Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) added 3.17% or 0.25 points to end at 8.27 and Banca Popolare di Sondrio ScpA (BIT:BPSI) was up 2.50% or 0.30 points to 12.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT:CPRI), which fell 1.00% or 0.07 points to trade at 6.53 at the close. Recordati (BIT:RECI) declined 0.69% or 0.35 points to end at 50.25 and Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) was down 0.66% or 0.10 points to 15.08.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 337 to 249 and 49 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.98% or 0.63 to $63.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.63% or 0.42 to hit $66.21 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 4.78 to trade at $3,399.92 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 97.92.
