Henan manufacturing delivers joy to the world

Islamabad: Shanghai has Disney, and Shangjie has Dinis. Both are places where joy is manufactured.

The Ferris wheel seems to invite people to enjoy high-altitude romance. The double-decker carousel spins tomusic, taking people back to their childhood. And the giant pendulum ride swings like a fierce beast, unleashing thrills… On August 12, when the reporters walked into Henan Dinis Entertainment Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Dinis”) located in Shangjie District, Zhengzhou, it was like stepping into an amusement kingdom. The dazzling array of powered amusement equipment unfolded a colorful and joyful picture.

“Look, this is the giant pendulum product customized for Zhengzhou Enjoy International Tourist Resort, which is being manufactured intensively. That is the ‘Double Dragons Roller Coaster’ amusement equipment that will be shipped to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and it is currently undergoing final debugging,” said Song Peng, general manager of Dinis, proudly in the production workshop. “Our ‘Henan-made’ products are continuously delivering joy!”

Today, Dinis’ products have crossed oceans and continents and been exported to over 80 countries and regions around the world, allowing people of different nationalities and languages to feel the joy brought by amusement equipment.

Rooted in the local area, radiating across the country, and exported to overseas markets, Dinis has never stopped its steps.

The other day, South Korean customers came for a visit. After trying out the amusement equipment such as Crazy Bouncing Rabbit and Dinosaur Swing, they couldn’t help but give a thumbs-up and sincerely praised: “The innovation speed of Chinese equipment has exceeded expectations!”

Last month, at the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo Asia 2025, Dinis secured cooperation intentions with many countries such as Russia, South Korea, and Indonesia, further expanding its international market presence, thanks to its outstanding products and technology.

Continuously creating new products and new scenarios, Henan-made amusement equipment is spinning even more joy. “Dinis will adopt ‘Mechanical + MR Mixed Reality’ technology and apply it to many products such as bumper cars and giant pendulum rides. Soon, tourists only need to wear AR glasses to synchronize with virtual scenes such as storms and starry skies during the movement, achieving an immersive experience where ‘the body stays still, but the scenery transforms’.” Song Peng said.

Manufacturing equipment and exporting Joy, Henan’s amusement equipment industry is forming a cluster momentum.

Expanding business across the world map, Zhengzhou Limeiqi Amusement Equipment Co., Ltd. started cross-border e-commerce trade in 2008. Over 70% of its amusement equipment such as ferris wheels and pirate ships are exported overseas, with products sold to 153 countries and regions. Xingyang, a county-level city that originally manufactured valves and various construction machinery, has now successfully entered the new track of powered amusement equipment, developing characteristic equipment for different cultural and tourism projects.

Regarding the development of Henan’s amusement industry, Zhou Jian, president ofHenan Institute of Reform and Development (HIRD), has conducted special research. He introduced that as of 2024, there are more than 500 related enterprises registered in Xingyang and Shangjie District, covering 14 specialized industrial categories such as power equipment, inflatable facilities, and non-powered equipment. Specifically, Shangjie District is a gathering area for large-scale enterprises, with leading manufacturers such as Zhengzhou Jinhui Amusement and Longtang Amusement. Wangcun Town and Gaocun Township in Xingyang are gathering areas for small and medium-sized equipment enterprises, hosting more than 70 complete machine enterprises and over 300 supporting enterprises, with the localization rate of components and parts exceeding 80%. The small and medium-sized amusement equipment manufactured here, especially powered amusement equipment, currently accounts for 35% of China’s domestic market share, ranking first nationwide.

Data shows that in 2024, the total output value of the amusement equipment industry in Xingyang and Shangjie District exceeded 2 billion yuan, with an export value of 230 million yuan.

Some industries are born from play itself. Across Henan Province, the amusement equipment industry shows a “scattered” characteristic and is blooming in multiple places.

Huojia County, the hometown of Pop Mart founder Wang Ning,is striving to build a national production base for non-powered amusement equipment. Baofeng’s “Magic Caravan” has developed the amusement equipment rental market. Ninety percent of China’s slides, cableways, and glass skywalksare “Lushan-made”. Xinye County has become a new highland for toy manufacturing in central China due to industrial relocation…

Start from the Central Plains and share “Henan Joy” with the world. In recent years, Henan has actively integrated into the construction of a unified national market, aiming at the goal of “Buying Globally and Selling Globally”. With the help of cross-border e-commerce, it has continuously promoted the growth of foreign trade scale and structural optimization. At present, Henan has basically formed cross-border e-commerce characteristic export industrial clusters represented by hair products, mechanical equipment, new materials, furniture and home furnishing, and amusement equipment.
