Zhengzhou: Since the beginning of this year, Henan has continued to optimize its supply structure, with local enterprises steadily enhancing the international competitiveness of their products. Exports are increasingly driven by innovation and green development.
According to statistics released by Zhengzhou Customs on August 20, in the first seven months of 2025, Henan’s high-tech exports totaled 114.4 billion yuan, a 33.4% increase year-on-year, contributing 35.8% to the province’s overall export growth. Exports of computers and communication equipment, instruments and meters, biomedicine, and high-end machine tools saw growth rates of 37.5%, 19.4%, 16.7%, and 55.1%, respectively.
During the same period, Henan’s exports of green and low-carbon products such as electric vehicles, lithium batteries and photovoltaic products reached 16.09 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year surge of 158.1%.
In recent years, free trade agreements like the RCEP and the China–ASEAN FTA have been further implemented, enabling high-tech products to take advantage of tariff reductions and reach international markets more efficiently.
“This not only helps further reduce export costs for Henan enterprises, but also facilitates their transition from traditional processing and manufacturing toward higher value-added activities, thereby supporting the province’s strategy to build a strong manufacturing base,” stated an official from the Duty Department of Zhengzhou Customs.
