Ronaldo voted “The Best of All Time” in Portugal
Lisbon: Cristiano Ronaldo has been voted “The Best of All Time” by the Portuguese Football Federation.
The Portuguese captain, who is the national team’s all-time leading scorer with 141 goals in 223 matches, added another individual award to his rich and impressive career.
“An idol of millions, he has defined an era and will leave an indelible mark on the world of football,” the Portuguese League wrote, according to “Gazeta Express”.
“CR7 was honored with the ‘Best of All Time’ award, a recognition for the golden pages he continues to write in his career.”
“Known for his epic, competitive and decisive work at key moments, Cristiano Ronaldo’s impact goes beyond statistics.”
“Between individual records, collective titles and media impact, he built a legacy that ranks him as… The best ever.”
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was unable to attend the ceremony in Porto, but sent a video message expressing his gratitude.
“I want to thank the League for this award for the best player ever,” the Al Nassr footballer initially said.
“As you can imagine, it’s a great honour for me to win something for my country. I have to thank all my teammates who have helped me throughout my career to win wonderful trophies. I also thank the coaches and everyone who has helped me become better,” added the 40-year-old.
This week, Ronaldo became the top scorer in the history of 2026 World Cup qualifiers in a 3-2 win over Hungary.
