Pakistan, China reaffirm unbreakable strategic partnership amid evolving regional challenges

Islamabad: In a firm demonstration of the enduring strength of bilateral ties, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong of China called on Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the “all-weather strategic partnership” between Pakistan and China — a bond often described as “higher than the mountains, deeper than the oceans, and sweeter than honey.” The two dignitaries engaged in comprehensive discussions on the evolving regional and international landscape, expressing strong mutual commitment to maintaining close communication and coordination on all matters of shared interest, the Foreign Office said.

Senator Dar underscored the time-tested friendship between Pakistan and China, built on mutual trust, respect, and unwavering support for each other’s core interests. He lauded China’s consistent role as Pakistan’s most reliable partner during challenging times, including its critical support for Pakistan’s development efforts, economic stability initiatives, and sovereignty issues. Dar emphasized that Pakistan remained fully committed to further strengthening this partnership across political, economic, defense, and cultural spheres.

Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, for his part, reaffirmed China’s firm support for Pakistan’s national development, territorial integrity, and socio-economic advancement. He praised Pakistan’s recent efforts toward economic reform and regional stability, and conveyed China’s readiness to work closely with Islamabad to address emerging challenges and opportunities.

Officials said the meeting also included a candid exchange of views on the regional security situation, highlighting the importance of peace, connectivity, and development for the broader South Asian and Central Asian regions. Both sides agreed that amid rising global uncertainties and evolving strategic trends, the Pakistan-China partnership remained a cornerstone for regional peace, prosperity, and stability.

The leaders also reviewed the progress of major bilateral projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a flagship initiative under China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which continues to transform Pakistan’s infrastructure, energy, and industrial landscape. They expressed satisfaction over the CPEC’s achievements and reaffirmed their shared resolve to expedite its second phase focused on industrialization, agriculture, and socio-economic uplift.
