Italy’s Leonardo acquires 24.55% stake in Finland’s SSH

Rome: Italian aerospace and defense group Leonardo will purchase a 24.55% stake in Finland’s SSH, becoming the company’s largest shareholder as part of a strategic partnership to expand its cyber security business.
The deal involves a €20 million share issue by SSH to Leonardo and is subject to certain conditions, according to an announcement made by both companies on Tuesday.
Leonardo views cyber security as a crucial area for its development and anticipates double-digit growth in this sector in the coming years.
After the transaction is completed, Leonardo will surpass current largest shareholder Accendo Capital, which will maintain a 20.87% ownership stake in SSH.
Stefano Pontecorvo, Leonardo’s chair, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition, noting that “the cyber security arena has become essential in new, interconnected multi-domain warfare systems.”
The partnership represents a significant move for Leonardo as it strengthens its position in the growing cyber security market.
