Islamabad: The UK Ministry of Defence has handed over three modern hovercraft to the Pakistan Navy, marking a significant development in enhancing Pakistan’s maritime defence capabilities.

According to details surfaced on Wednesday, the inclusion of these advanced hovercraft is considered a major step forward for strengthening the operational readiness of the Pakistan Navy. The hovercraft were manufactured by the renowned British company, Griffon Marine Support, under an agreement finalised in February 2022.

Known for their high speed, manoeuvrability, and ability to undertake a range of missions, the hovercraft will significantly boost the Pakistan Navy’s capacity for logistical and support operations. Their addition is expected to improve both the reach and efficiency of Pakistan’s naval forces.

The handover ceremony took place in London and was attended by senior officials from the Pakistan High Commission.
