Anarchy or Collusion? Torghar’s District Administration in Chaos

Administration

Torghar (Special Correspondent) — The district administration of Torghar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is facing alarming levels of disorder and lawlessness, raising serious concerns about governance and transparency in the region.

According to credible sources, former Deputy Commissioner Anwar Zaib—who had been on leave for some time—has resumed duties as DC without any official notification or transfer orders. His unsanctioned return has sparked controversy and confusion in administrative circles.

It is important to note that during Anwar Zaib’s absence, the government had formally appointed Safdar Qureshi as Deputy Commissioner of Torghar, and he had been fulfilling his responsibilities accordingly. However, Anwar Zaib’s abrupt return and self-assumed takeover of the position is not only a clear violation of service rules but also poses a serious threat to the district’s administrative framework.

Political and civil society figures have condemned the move as a display of “administrative authoritarianism” and have called upon the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the Chief Secretary to intervene immediately. Citizens warn that if such practices continue unchecked, they could lead to a complete breakdown of law, order, and transparency at the district level.

As of now, the district administration has neither issued an explanation nor released any official statement regarding the matter.
